The concept for Commodity Fragrances’ future Paris store brings the deconstructed character of its New York flagship into a more intimate scale within a distinctly Parisian architectural shell. The design translates Commodity’s idea of “Scent Space”—the controlled projection of fragrance around the wearer—into a spatial experience inspired by French artist Marcel Duchamp’s exploration of everyday objects, layered glass, shadows, and perspective. These elements create a sense of depth and implied space, connecting the physical experience of the store to the invisible projection of scent. The result is a dialogue between Commodity’s American identity and its French setting, creating a cohesive environment that feels both distinctly New York and inherently Parisian.
