Hog Mountain House was a venture project for RDK WorX LLC, an independent branch of RDK Architect LLC. The goal was to design & develop a sustainable single-family house in the Catskill Mountains, serving as a weekend retreat or full time residence for a future owner.

The modern and sustainable home was inspired by characteristics found in industrial agrarian buildings & Scandinavian farmhouses which exemplify minimalist and natural environments. The building footprint was kept to a minimum and shaped to nestle into the natural contours of the property to reduce environmental impact within the rural community. Passive design strategies, efficient mechanical systems, and sustainable materials were implemented to achieve a healthy home which earned a LEED Gold certification by U.S. Green Building Council.
